Denise grew up on a farm, and after moving to the suburbs has stuck to her roots. She has chickens, gardens, and is learning beekeeping. She loves making A Dirty Hoe products for people and loves nothing more than a satisfied customer! Denise makes A Dirty Hoe body butters, lotion bars and creates other products in our A Dirty Hoe line :)
Sandy grew up in the suburbs with a momma that liked to keep things natural. After rebelling from the idea of being all natural, she came full circle back to her roots as well. She gardens and also has chickens! She makes everything she can from scratch. She's the one behind most of the salves and infusions in A Dirty Hoe product line.

Of course! At A Dirty Hoe, we make everything in small batches at home so we are more than willing to customize scent for you. We work solely with essential oils for scent, so the blend of scent will need to be in that realm. Need bath bombs for a shower gift? We can help you out. Wedding favors? of course!

A Dirty Hoe understands allergies! After all, we started making these products because our kids reacted to things in "regular" products. Allergic to nuts? No problem. We can substitute out the shea butters. Allergic to sunflower? We can use a different carrier oil. Just ask! A Dirty Hoe is happy to accommodate any allergy issues!

Our answer on this might shock you, but no. Our botanicals are all raised in our yards where we do not spray any insecticides or herbicides. But our inputs such as Shea or cocoa butter and our essential oils are not certified organic. Why?!

Because that does not mean chemicals were not used in the production of that product. We don't think it's worth charging you more when they still allow chemicals to be used. Here's the list of allowed chemicals that can be used and still certified organic: https://www.omri.org/about-products-list
Instead we feel it's best to stick with avoiding preservatives, dyes, pthalates in fragrance oils, and other endocrine disruptors.
